Tensile, Compressive, and Flexural Characterization of CFRP Laminates Related to Water Absorption
نویسندگان
چکیده
CFRP structures are often exposed to humid environment resulting in water absorption and causing property degradation. Water swelling its effect on tensile, compressive, flexural properties were investigated according ASTM standards. Fracture modes evaluated by analyzing micrographs of fracture areas. The specimens cut from twill wave composite plates fabricated using a vacuum infusion technique. Some them immersed prior being mechanically tested. It was found that tensile strength, as well strength moduli decreased due swelling, but strain increase swelling. most severely affected is (decreased 25.72%), the least compressive modulus 1.89%). Tensile underwent fibre breakage followed matrix cracking, showed buckling kinking crushing where failed their side. In conclusion, has bad impact strength.

Experimental Study of Mechanical Stabilization impact on Improving Compressive, Tensile and Flexural Strength of Adobe
Iran is one of the oldest countries in the world benefiting from adobe-based architecture; a method which has long been forgotten in the contemporary architecture of country. Considering the important role of Earth Blocks such as adobe in the world’s contemporary architecture and the wealth of Iranian adobe-based monuments, it is necessary to continue contemplating on ways to optimize adobe to ...
متن کاملInvestigation on Flexural Performance of RC Beams Flexurally Strengthened by Side-bonded CFRP Laminates
It is an effective way to improve the flexural behavior of reinforced concrete (RC) members by externally bonded carbon fiber reinforcement polymer (CFRP) laminates on the soffit of the members. However, there is little investigation on flexural performance of RC beam flexurally strengthened by side-bonded FRP laminates. To investigate the flexural behavior of RC beams side-bonded CFRP laminate...
متن کاملCompressive, diametral tensile and biaxial flexural strength of cutting-edge calcium phosphate cements.
Calcium phosphate cements (CPCs) are widely used in bone repair. Currently there are two main types of CPCs, brushite and apatite. The aim of this project was to evaluate the mechanical properties of particularly promising experimental brushite and apatite formulations in comparison to commercially available brushite- and apatite-based cements (chronOS(™) Inject and Norian(®) SRS(®), respective...
